After my previous regular barber shop continued turning over staff and increased their prices while reducing the services provided with a basic cut, I decided to give North Durham Barber Shop a try. Everything was great - Toby is very friendly and provided great conversation during the cut. Good cut, good price. Both thumbs up.
Toby and Melissa are good people. Always make you feel welcomed. Even though it is a home town barbershop and serves a lot of locals. You feel like one when you get there. Everybody greets you even the locals. Toby and Melissa are a good team. They have a very great sense of humor. Hard for me to tell who wears the pants in the shop. LOL those two are great. Highly recommended.

I thoroughly enjoyed every time I come to this place to have a haircut. Absolutely an excellent experience! First, place is nice & clean & location is close to home. Second, Toby’s personality is second to none! He’s very courteous, friendly, & he always make me feel as family. Last but not least, his skills in cutting & finding the right haircut for me is clearly a factor for me to keep coming back. I won’t hesitate in an instant to recommend him. Grateful for his commendable service!
Great local mom and pop type place. I got called into a work meeting while waiting and they told me no worries and held my spot for me. Best haircut I've had in a long time and I'm still getting compliments on it. I'll be back when I need a touchup!
Brought my baby boy here for his first haircut and honestly, it was amazing! Melissa was absolutely the sweetest. We got a cute certificate and everything. Totally recommend this place for little ones. They are so awesome (sooooo much better than some of the places that specifically cater to little ones). Can't wait to go back! Such a treat.
I would give this place ten stars if I could. No frills. Great haircuts. Reasonable prices. And of course the owner, Toby is an icon and is always great conversation. Sad that I have to move for work. This is the sort of neighborhood shop you come back to for a lifetime.
